HAU and Other VOCA Members Visit the Aetahanan Dormitory for the “Komustahan sa Aetahanan”

“Komustahan sa Aetahanan,” an activity meant to assess the current situation of the resident Aeta scholars at the Aetahanan dormitory in Dila-Dila, Sta. Rita, Pampanga was held on August 10, 2014. The program started with a Bible for Faith and Action Sharing Team (BFAST) session where the scholars shared their insights on the Gospel for the coming Sunday. The BFAST was facilitated by Mr. Philip Joseph Sarmiento, a Christian Living Education faculty of Holy Angel University. A dialogue facilitated by Mr. Charles Espiritu of the University of the Assumption among the 15 scholars regarding the needs of the residents, their dreams, and the contributions that they can make towards the proper maintenance of the dorm followed after the BFAST session.

Through the help of the facilitators and the VOCA representatives who were also present in support to the event, the Aetahanan vision was conceptualized by the resident scholars and the other stakeholders.

The activity served as an eye-opener on the other needs and concerns of the resident Aeta students apart from the construction of the Aetahanan dormitory.
