100% passing rate for guidance counselors

Holy Angel University registered a 100% passing rate in the government licensure examinations for Guidance Counselors given in August 2015.


Four out of four examinees from HAU joined 252 other successful examinees from all over the country, out of the total 419 who took the exam. The national passing average is 60.41%.


The HAU examinees are graduates of the HAU Master of Arts, Major in Guidance and Counseling program. One of them is an employee of the University. They are: Maricar N. Jose, Radilyn D. Narciso, Janice Dee A. Patio and Carlo M. Puno.


Under Republic Act 9258, otherwise known as the Guidance and Counseling Act of 2004, all guidance counselors and psychometricians in the country are required to pass the licensure examination administered by the Professional Regulation Committee before practicing the profession. To qualify for the exam, counselors must be holders of MA/MS Guidance and Counseling.
