HAU COMMUNITY CELEBRATES THE FEAST OF HOLY GUARDIAN ANGEL

The Feast of Holy Guardian Angel was celebrated on October 2, Sunday, with a morning mass held at the Holy Rosary Parish presided by Rev. Fr. Francis Dizon. The University Community, led by the Campus Ministry Office (CMO), joined the said celebration. A procession of the century-old image of the University Patron and patron of HAU’s founding family, the Holy Guardian Angel, which is housed at HAU Chapel, was accompanied by the HAU Band after the solemn mass.

The HAU Community also celebrated the Feast of Holy Guardian Angel on October 3 which started with a mass presided by Archbishop Emeritus, Most Rev. Paciano B. Aniceto, DD at 8:30am followed by a procession within the campus. During the said celebration, CMO endorsed pack of goods to the University Student Council which will then be donated to 10 selected indigent students. A simple morning agape, with College of Hospitality and Tourism Management helping in the preparation, was partaken by the community. Afternoon and evening masses were also celebrated (11:30AM mass presided by Rev. Fr. Angel Gamboa and 4:45PM by Rev. Fr. Ivan Ray Torno), and another procession was held after the holy mass in the evening.

An outreach activity was also held in the afternoon as part of the Feast Celebration. Fifty students of Katutubo Elementary School from Planas, Porac enjoyed a kiddie party organized by the Office of Community Extension and Services, with the help of volunteers from Junior Hotel and Restaurant Managers Association, Bukal (student arm of OCES), and Laboratory Elementary School Student Council.

The University organizes a series of events yearly during the Feast of Holy Guardian Angel to highlight our founder’s value of community and societal responsibility and to further our commitment to offer a Christ-centered education.
