KANSAI UNIVERSITY OFFERS SCHOLARSHIP FOR SHORT-TERM LANGUAGE AND CULTURE COURSE

The University is pleased to announce the winter offering of the Intensive Japanese Language and Culture Course (IJLC) to be conducted by its partner-school, Kansai University (KU) of Osaka, Japan and the scholarship KU will be providing to participants as part of its commemorative celebrations on its 130th founding anniversary this year.


Participants will learn Japanese language, understand Japanese culture and society from various perspectives, and have opportunities to interact with KU Japanese students through a variety of activities.


COURSE DATE AND FEE


The course is from February 9 to February 20, 2017 (12 days) Least Course Fee + Dormitory: JPY 131,000 Plus overseas travel accident insurance: JPY 11,000 (estimate) The course fees include Japanese language class, accommodation, airport shuttle on arrival and departure, course materials, field trip, Japanese culture experience, and interaction with Kansai University students. All other costs related to airfares, meals and any other living expenses, overseas travel insurance, and visa shall be for the account of the student.


SCHOLARSHIP


A scholarship grant worth JPY 50,000.00 is awarded per student. At least one (1) scholarship is allotted for HAU. The amount shall be refunded during the student’s stay in Japan.


ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS


Undergraduate or graduate level students


CLASS LEVELS: 3 levels


  • Beginner Class
  • Beginner-Intermediate (Lower) Class
  • Intermediate (Upper)-Advanced Class

Participants will be placed in an appropriate level of study based on an on-line placement test completed before coming to Japan.


NOTE: Rudimentary ability in reading and writing of Hiragana and Katakana and knowledge of basic Japanese, like greetings, are essential.
