HAU CHORALE, CHAMPION IN THE FIESTA REPUBLIKA AWIT-MAKABAYAN

"Once again the Angelic Voices reached the Heaven"


With thirty three (33) of its members competing, Holy Angel University Chorale was declared CHAMPION in the recently concluded Fiesta Republika Timpalak Awit-Makabayan 2017, held in Malolos, Bulacan.


The HAU Chorale outclassed 12 other choirs from all over the country. HAU Chorale performed “Ama” composed by George Canseco and arranged by Ed Nepomuceno, “Galawgaw” arranged by Fidel G. Calalang, Jr., and the contest piece – “Viva Republika” by Robert Delgado. The choir, which also represented Angeles City, performed these patriotic songs before a formidable board of jurors composed of music experts, composers and conductors.


Robert Delgado, a prolific musician based in the Philippines known for his choral arrangements, served as one of the jurors in the said choral competition. He is also a music composer, instrumental arranger, choral conductor, choral coach, and choral events organizer. He also served as one of the resident arrangers of the world-renowned Philippine Madrigal Singers and most of his arrangements are part of the choir's repertoire. Joining Delgado were Anna Abeleda, conductor of University of the East Chorale and University of Visayas Chorale, and Ato Del Rosario, former music director and composer at Barasoain Kalinangan Foundation Inc. who is affiliated with UP Diliman and Philippine Madrigal Singers.
