Being the first of its kind in the country, the program aims to address the issue of cybersecurity, with it being identified as the foremost ICT and business challenge that organizations face today. It also plans to deal with the dearth of experts in the region.

The MOU signing was held at the Casa Nena Function Hall, STL Building,Holy Angel University. Representatives from USAID STRIDE, Cloudstaff, University administrators, industry partners, and members of the local media attended the event.

The Professional Science Master's (PSM) degree is a unique professional education program in the area of science, technology, engineering, agriculture and mathematics (STEAM) that is designed to prepare students for a variety of career options in the industry, government or non-profit organizations. PSM combines advanced coursework in STEAM with relevant business and management courses to produce graduates who are highly valued by employers and fully prepared to progress toward leadership roles.

To achieve the desired program outcomes, USAID STRIDE agrees to provide the assistance through faculty training, faculty externships, and supplemental discipline-based workshops with Cloudstaff providing the industry perspective to enrich the curriculum and ensure its relevance. Professor Maria Teresa Salta, Dean of the College of Information and Communications Technology, will lead the HAU team delivering the program.

The Science, Technology, Research, and Innovation for Development (STRIDE) Program is a five-year PHP 1.3 billion initiative managed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). STRIDE is partnering with Philippine academic institutions and industries to increase the propensity to produce research, graduates, and innovations to fast track development in the country.
