ACCLAIMED JOURNALIST SHARES WISDOM TO STUDENT-JOURNALISTS AND SCHOOL PUBLICATION ADVISERS

Dr. Crispin Maslog’s vast experience in the field of journalism was grasped as treasure to behold by campus paper advisers and student journalists in the region who attended his forum on May 17, 2017 at the PGN Auditorium.


The lecture covered journalism and its role in society, campus journalism in the Philippines, the laws that correspond to campus journalism including libel law, the role of advisers, the rights of students to press freedom, and the skills involved in campus journalism.


Dr. Maslog is a journalist, professor, writer and editor, and environmental activist. He is one of the founding chairs of Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC). He pioneered research and extension works in the field of community journalism in the Philippines. He has written and edited about 26 books in communication and communication education, four of which are being used as textbooks in Philippine communication schools.


The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) spearheaded the lecture in pursuant to Holy Angel University strategic objective of providing academic quality and organizational excellence.
