HAU and AIJC Signed Agreement to Offer Joint Program

Holy Angel University (HAU) and the Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC) signed a memorandum of agreement on the collaborative offering of the Master of Arts in Communication (MA Com) program. The two higher education institutions (HEIs) agreed to offer AIJC’s MA Com program at HAU.

The agreement was inspired by the two HEIs’ common desire to make available to Central Luzon communication professionals a quality graduate program that is adapted to regional as well as national needs. HAU is the premier HEI in the region that has been granted Autonomous status by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Meanwhile, Manila-based AIJC is a pioneer in graduate education in communication; it has been offering its innovative courses to communication professionals and academics for 36 years. The two HEIs believe that together, they can respond innovatively and effectively to the growing need for forward-looking educational programs in communication.

The MOA-signing ceremony was led by HAU president Dr. Luis Maria R. Calingo and AIJC president Mr. Ramon Tuazon, Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs Dr. Alma Espartinez (HAU) and Dr. Paz Diaz (AIJC) and the deans of the MA in Com Program Dr. Edmond Maniago (HAU) and Dr. Madeleine Quiamco.

The AIJC Board of Trustees Mr. Mel Velarde, Dr. Florangel Braid, Dr. Olivia Villafuerte and Mr. Rodrigo Cornejo also attended the event.

The ceremony was covered by local media partners, GNN TV, GVFM 99.1 and CLTV 36.
