HAU Alumnus bags 2nd place in ‘Peace in the Streets Global Film Fest’

Straight from the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, AB Communication Major in Broadcast Journalism graduate Kelvin Aguilar recently won 2nd place in the Peace in the Streets Global Film Fest (PSGFF), where hundreds of entries competed from all over the globe. His short film entry “Youth Talk” addresses the issues of the youth and stereotyping.


Aguilar, being the Most Outstanding Communication Arts Student of his batch in 2014 won different Student Quill Awards namely “Yagit”, a documentary about poverty and its effect to education; “iVote”, an advocacy video which aim to encourage the youth to practice suffrage; and “One4Trees: I Love Trees, I Save Trees”, an advocacy campaign on saving trees. The campaign aims to show how trees are essential to the environment. He is now recognized as the student who has won the most number of Student Quill Awards (5 awards) and was recognized as one of Holy Angel University’s Campus Heroes in 2013. Aguilar now works as a Production Assistant and Ex-Deal Coordinator at ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation and continues to make his alma mater proud.
