PNAA Officers Visit SNAMS

The School of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences (SNAMS) invited two prominent Filipino nurse leaders in their talk with students, alumni, and faculty last January 23, 2018. Luz P. Newell, RNFA, MPA, MS and Nancy Hoff, MSN, RN correspondingly gave their lecture on population health, care for Alzheimer’s dementia, and issues related to internationally-educated nurses in California. Both are active members of the Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA) particularly in the California state and are long-time educators and nurse practitioners in the United States. Their visit ushered in collaborative initiatives between Holy Angel University and the PNAA such as the Balik Turo program (a distinguished Filipino nurse practitioner in the US giving a teaching session with a local institution), development of a gerontological nursing program, and a help desk for HAU nursing alumni wishing to practice in California.
