Aguilar bagged two(2) major recognitions on the 1st Student Quill Awards

Kelvin R. Aguilar, (3rd Year Communication Arts student) bagged two major recognitions on the 1st Student Quill Awards for his documentary “Yagit”. The awards include Best in Communication Campaigns and Audiovisual.


Yagit is a documentary which dealt with a young boy who sells “pandesal” for a living and to sustain his family’s primary needs. The documentary is one of his requirements in one of his major subjects last semester.


The Philippine Quill is the country’s most prestigious and relevant award for business communicators. It is given annually by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines or IABC Philippines.


This year, they spearheaded the 1st Student Quill Awards for students (universities around the Philippines) who made a work which created an impact to the society.


Dr. Jaime V. Cortez (VPAA) and Dr. Marga B. Carreon (Dean) extended their greetings to Aguilar. They also agreed that this is a good exposure for COMM students as they showcase their outputs in a national competition.


Aguilar will be attending the Awards Night which is scheduled on November 12, 2012, Monday at the Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila, ADB Avenue corner Ortigas Avenue, Quezon City.
