COMM STUDENTS BAGGED 4 MAJOR AWARDS IN THE STUDENT QUILL

Communication Arts students won 4 major Awards in the Philippine Student Quill 2013. This award giving-body recognizes the highest Global Standard for best communication works among the universities and colleges from around the country.


2nd Philippine Student Quill Awards honors excellence in communication in the undergraduate levels. It gathers the best works of students nationwide which they produced for their class, for a club, a volunteer association, an internship, and other non-commercial activities in a student capacity. Entries are evaluated using professional industry standards.


There were two outputs submitted for the Quill. One is the advocacy campaign IVOTE which promotes responsible and conscientious voting. This entry was the work of Kelvin Aguilar, a 4th year Broadcast Journalism student.


The other was a documentary entitled “Tune Lugud”. This work deals with how true love transcends physical defects. It is the story of a married couple who were deaf yet manage to keep their relationship work. This output was created by the 4th year Advertising students through the leadership of Marcelo Lacap III.


Both entries bagged awards on Communication Creative and Audio Visual Presentation. Though, specific awards will be revealed on the awards night is set on November 11, 2013 at 6:00 at Crowne Plaza, Galleria Manila.


This is the 2nd time that Comm students made a name for the Quill awards. Last year, Kelvin Aguilar won as well for his documentary Yagit.
