HAUTEU files petition with Court of Appeals, prevents distribution of 70% IP

Holy Angel University has received a copy of the Petition for Certiorari filed by the Holy Angel University Teachers & Employees Union (HAUTEU) with the Court of Appeals (CA) seeking to overturn the decision of the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) which had earlier dismissed all the five (5) charges of Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) leveled against the University. Included in the NLRC decisionwas the dismissal of HAUTEU allegations that the 70% incremental proceeds (IP) were undercomputed and misallocated.

The filing of the HAUTEU Petition, therefore, prevents the HAU Management from complying with the directive of the HAU Board of Trustees to distribute the 70% IP for SY2012-2013 in the total amount of PhP20.9M provided there be no pending legal issue on the manner of computation and allocation of the amount.

The University, therefore, has no choice but to await the final resolution of the Court of Appeals (CA) proceedings.
